NAMADA NETWORK / UNIFIED SHIELDED SET
Different assets can contribute to a common shielded environment. Explore the context before, within and beyond the set.
Different origins.
Asset identity, denomination and route matter before an asset enters the shared set.

Shielding moves an asset from transparent activity into Namada’s common shielded set.
A common set allows different assets to contribute to shared privacy, rather than organising protection solely around one token. Shielding is the step into that set; unshielding returns assets to transparent activity.
Zero-knowledge proofs let the protocol check shielded activity while protecting transaction details within the set. The asset identities remain distinct; a shared set does not turn different assets into the same token.
Explore Namada’s network architecture through the source asset, shielded set and destination. Choose a route supported by the network, interface and signing tool you use.
Assets & network identity
A familiar ticker is a starting point. The originating network, IBC channel and asset denomination tell you what you are actually moving.
NAM participates in staking and governance, and is used for network fees.
A native asset of Cosmos Hub; identify the route into Namada before transferring.
An asset and a network are separate choices. Match the destination and channel to your intent.
Verify the denomination shown by the interface, including its cross-chain context.
Explore these IBC ecosystem assets through their originating networks, denominations and channels. Route selection and shielding-reward eligibility follow the network’s own rules.
IBC interoperability
IBC is the communication protocol connecting Namada with IBC-enabled chains. A cross-chain transfer needs the right asset, source, destination and channel; a network name alone does not define the route.

Transparent or shielded context
IBC connectivity does not make every path equivalent. The interface must support the intended action, and transparent endpoints can reveal information on either side of a shielded journey.
Read both networks, the asset denomination, fees and the address displayed by your signing tool.
Shielding rewards & participation
Shielding rewards recognise eligible assets held in Namada’s shielded set. Rewards are paid in NAM according to protocol parameters.
Governance determines which assets are incentivised and their reward rates. The asset amount and time spent in the set affect rewards. Follow current eligibility and protocol parameters when evaluating participation.
On the Namada network, shielding, staking and governance each have their own role. Choose the interface and signing tool for the action you intend.
Shielded Actions
A shielded environment connects to a wider, often transparent world. Think about what is visible before, within and after each action.
A source-chain transaction can expose an address, amount and timing. Moving into a shielded set does not erase records already published elsewhere.
Namada uses zero-knowledge proofs for shielded activity. The shared set is the network’s foundation for financial data protection.
An unshielding destination or another application can expose new information. Consider those connections before authorising a request.
Namada’s documented Shielded Actions cover cross-chain transfers. Follow the asset from its source, through the shielded set and into the destination context.
Review transaction contextThe tools around the protocol
The network, the application and the signing tool have distinct responsibilities. Knowing the difference makes each connection easier to evaluate.

Creates accounts, manages keys and signs Namada transactions. An application can request a signature; the signing tool is where that request deserves your attention.
Presents actions such as shielding, staking and governance. Community operators host interfaces independently, so checking the host belongs in your routine.
Choose the interface for the action and the signing tool for authorisation. Keychain and Namadillo serve distinct roles within Namada’s decentralised ecosystem.

Choose your environment, understand your tools and keep guidance close. Namada Wallet brings platform selection, an application launch check and local knowledge into one desktop journey.
Windows, macOS and Linux versions sit together above. Match the operating system and check the application publisher and package instructions before installing software.

Identify the interface, network and signer. Read the requested permissions before connecting; review the transaction separately before approving it. Local guidance can be read without connecting an account.

A few useful distinctions
No. Source and destination chains, transparent actions, application behaviour and information shared outside the protocol can expose details. Consider the full route, not only the time an asset spends in the shielded set.
Shielding moves assets into the shared shielded set. Staking NAM participates in the network’s proof-of-stake system. Shielding rewards and staking rewards have separate rules, risks and eligibility.
The protocol defines network rules, interfaces present actions and signing tools manage authorisation. Explore each product’s role and use its own instructions for the workflow you choose.
